Old Is Not Always Gold
A believer died in an accident. An old religious believer said, "oh no, what a terrible death." Some "old" believers react or respond to death in a fleshly way.
Our reactions and responses need to be godly and not fleshly. Some tend to boast about how the entire family was present before a near one died. It's the grace of God and does not reflect special spiritual status.
Some question why saints die sick; for example, Elisha was sick when he died. He died in faith. A dead man fell on his bones and came back to life. The power of God still manifested even after he was gone.
Some even blame those who die in persecution. Saying they were not smart enough and unnecessarily went to preach. Of course, this applies only to people they don't know or don't like. Foolish statements create confusion among children and youth.
What is a good death? What did Jesus say about a good death?
Often when we hear about disasters or accidents, we think negatively about the end of a soul. Referring to the terrible deaths of some Galileans and the tower falling in Siloam over 18 people in Luke 13:1-5, Jesus says just because it happened does not mean they were the worst sinners.
Only those who repent and live out the repentant lifestyle enter heaven. Many start well but fall away from the faith because of various reasons. A repentant believer walks in godly sorrow - full of fire for God. The faithful also dies in accidents, disasters, persecutions, etc.
The apostles and believers in Thessalonica, Macedonia, etc., suffered much persecution and died as martyrs for the cause of Christ.
Look up! The redemptions drawing near. Guard the Word of God in your heart, and grow in love.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
