Make Your Calling Sure!

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Revelation‬ ‭17:14

The One who has called you and me is Faithful 🙌 Who is this One who has called us? He is the Lamb of God, Jesus. He overcomes all enemies and hands perfect victory to all those who are Called, Chosen and Faithful.

I’m extremely fond of this verse 😊 There is a certain sense of exclusivity in it — which means the people here stand apart from the rest. It’s an open call for one and all, to those who are willing — to be with the Lamb ❤️

Firstly, we must abide in our calling (1 Corinthians 7:20) and our abiding must be with God (1 Corinthians 7:24). Everyone who has been called by God is His disciple. When Jesus was on earth, His disciples joyfully followed Him when everything was favourable. Miracles after miracles — Wow! they enjoyed having Jesus with them.

A time came when they couldn’t stay with Jesus any longer. They left Him and ran away for their lives. BUT, the same disciples, after being baptised with the anointing of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, were transformed completely. There was a paradigm shift in the disciples’ lives — a great transformation in which they weren’t afraid to die for their Master.

To abide in our Calling with God, we need to abide with the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit in us (1John 2:27,28). The Holy Spirit/Comforter/Spirit of Truth is the Third Person in the Trinity. After Jesus’ Ascension, He sent the Comforter to be within us, always.

There is every possibility of falling from grace, if our Calling and Election isn’t made sure.

Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; 2 Peter‬ ‭1:10‬ ‭NASB
