How To Stay Close To God Every Day?

Staying close to God is the call of every believer. God brought us into His marvellous light from a terrible darkness so we may never have to walk in slavery to sin, sickness, fear or death.

Staying close to God requires us to think, say and walk in a certain way. It’s a new way. A new way cannot function on old beliefs.

When we did not believe in God we did whatever we felt like or thought was good. In this new way, we are called to do what God feels like, and thinks is good.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:8)

Cleanse your hands to stay close to God

Hands refers to our works. Every work we do at home, church, office, or anywhere, need to be in Christ. We need to walk looking at Jesus as our example; in love, faith, holiness and doing the will of God.

Purify your hearts

God is holy, and so we need to be holy. We need to separate from self-righteousness and embrace the righteousness of God in obedience to His word. Seek His love to obey God. Keep your heart pure from evil, un-sanctifying natures that corrupt the soul.

Never doubt God’s word

God is not a man that He will lie. All that God has promised in His word, He will definitely do. Doubting God reveals a lack of understanding of who God is. No born again believer should be found doubting in God. Learning to trust Fod requires faith, which comes from the author and finisher of faith Jesus. Turn to Jesus.

We can either love 💕 only God, or anyone/thing else. Our choices matter. They have consequences. Our love and good works needs to be out of a direct obedience to God’s word and timing. God is ever ready to lead us; all we need to do is surrender wholeheartedly. Maranatha, praise God and amen.
