How To Run The Right Race In The World?
Dead people cannot serve the living God. When you are spiritually dead, you only care about the things of the world. When you are spiritually alive, you will seek godly things - heavenly character and purpose.
When you are spiritually dead as a believer you may know certain things about God. But your knowledge will not manifest in action because of the lusts of the heart.
You may understand a few things about God but you will not have a compassion for the lost and suffering. You may feel bad or sad but it’s pointless if strong prayers aren’t being made for them everyday.
Knowing and understanding must lead to a natural application of God’s word in our lives. This requires a life of faith, where we believe God is present in every step we take. A life where we are fully aware of the spiritual warfare we are in.
The only way we can live a life of faith is by loving God with all our heart, mind and strength.
We are too weak to have more than one true love. When we learn to love God with all our heart, then we will learn to apply that love in all we do.
Run the race that is certain
We were created to love God with everything we have. It seems and feels impossible. To be honest, scary. But, this is a zero risk lifestyle. A race that is certain, if we stay faithful we have only to gain forever.
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
King Solomon knew God, had understanding but ended up in disobedience because of over indulgence. Moses on the other hand, gave up all the riches and lived to manifest God’s word.
The choice is before us. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Live for Jesus in these last days. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen!
