How To Put On Christ?

Put on Christ dear believer, there is no other way to live. Jesus said learn of me for I am meek and lowly of heart. The greatest state of humility is Christ in us. As a believer, if Christ in us is not a reality, then we are dead in sin.

The day we were baptised we put on Christ (Galatians 3:27). The only way to live now is in and through Him.

Believers are already blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). We are in the advantage, to save souls. Only a believer has been given the power to be used for the greatest gift of God for man, Salvation.

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and for His faith to take effect in us, we need to deny our self (Galatians 2:20) and let Jesus reign in us.

What happens when you put on Christ?

Firstly, there is now no condemnation to them which are in Jesus, who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)

Secondly, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

Thirdly, when we walk like Jesus, there is no room for fleshly mindset to take control of us (Romans 13:14). We overcome the lusts of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of this life.

Two ways to put on Jesus

First, The Word of God has been given to us to grow in doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16). Hold Fast to the apostolic doctrines (2 Timothy 1:13)

Second, Trust Father through Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:4). Be a child to the Heavenly Father, follow as Jesus did the will of the Father.

We are always ‘putting on’ for so many people and things we value on earth. Trying to make such a big impression. Getting that sale. Acing that interview. We put on a show (attitude) that really does not reflect the true us.
