How to overcome partiality around you?

Don’t we hate it when people show partiality? We see partiality everywhere today.

In school or college, there is the teachers pet.
At the workplace, the one who butters the boss receives special favours.
Some ministers show bias towards the rich folk, which in turn affects youth deeply.

God is just. He is impartial and never shows any kind of favouritism. Even with His chosen, God deals with them justly. People often focus on the victory over enemies, but fail to see the persistent disobedience of God's children.

Peter was partial to the Jews, and wasn’t walking uprightly. He was corrected publicly. Peter tried to please the Jews. It’s always a terrible choice to please people at the cost of the word of God.

Trust God to overcome partiality

What does it take for us to walk unaffected by what we see? A wholehearted dependence on God’s word. Beware of religious mentality that is inclined towards cultism, i.e. depending on sinful man. Elevating pastors or leaders higher than the word of God is disastrous for the soul.

“I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.”

1 Timothy 5:21

God is for those who are sincere and preserve a clean conscience. He exalts the humble in due time. When it may seem others who are undeserving are finding favour, wait on the lord. Everyone and everything has to go through a test of fire. Only the faithful who walk in wisdom remain. Wisdom from above strengthens us with heavenly qualities we can never gain on or sustain on our own to battle the unfairness towards us.

“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”

James 3:17

Let’s walk wisely staying faithful to the holy and righteous one. Our reward is in heaven. We are closer to the finish line. Maranatha, praise God and amen!
