How To Melt The Heart Of The Enemy?
To melt the heart of the enemy, we need to love the person going against us.
How did God melt the heart of the enemy of Israel?
What did Rahab say about the state of Israel’s enemies in Jericho to the spies? Hearts had melted having heard how mightily God had led Israel thus far. A great terror had fallen upon the people of Jericho. The testimonies of God’s great works sends shivers down those who hear.
And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. (Joshua 2:9-11)
There is a great power in testimony. A power that stirs and transforms hearts. God’s word is the power of God unto salvation. It saves the seeker and drives fear into the enemies.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
Similarly, when we hear worldly news or rumours or false accusations our hearts tend to weaken. We easily lose heart (Psalms 22:14,15). The news of this world is filled with despair, division and destruction which causes hearts to melt.
God's word melts hearts and all evil natures
What happens when God speaks? All darkness is dispelled by the light of God's word. Darkened hearts begin to see hope. The mountains tremble, the earth melts. When God speaks our mountain of pride is shaken. The carnal heart melts before the sanctifying power of His word.
The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. (Psalms 97:5)
Be strengthened by God’s word. Boldly preach that the power of God manifests in time. Pray to God to speak into the lives of those who are in darkness around you.
Maranatha, Praise God and Amen.
