How To Keep Your Garden, Your Heart?
Friends!! I have to tell you about this beautiful revelation I received the other day while doing some bit of gardening! ☀️🌼
Well, I don’t know how many of you are into gardening - weeding out grass, sprinkling water on those beautiful fresh leaves and veggies, gathering out the stones and stuff and making sure they get enough sunshine!!🌞😀
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. Isaiah 61:3
By the grace of God this year as well, God gave us the increase in what we had planted - tomatoes, French beans, German turnip, Cauliflower and spinach! It’s such a delight to smell the fresh air in the morning, to see those lush leaves and the fruit of each tree hanging down from the branches! I feel very happy to see them smiling everyday at me; some still taking its time to grow and some others ready to be plucked!! Which makes me wonder how much GOD would enjoy seeing us daily when He comes into His garden!
GOD IS SO GOOD!!
But!! let me also tell you this - every time i am on work mode here, especially while weeding out grass and the other little plants 🌱 the Spirit of God reminds me that I need to take care of my heart ❤️ as well, which is also a garden. The Holy Spirit was helping me understand that - look, the ground is wet and the soil loose.. so plucking out the grass and weed was easy for me. In some places, on uprooting, the entire little plant would come off - the long root buried deep down under would be finally out!! How amazing!
Yet in some places where the soil was soaked with a little less water, I did manage to pluck them out, but the stem along with the roots broke off and only the leaves remained in my hands!! That’s not good, because chances are the root would grow more deep and new leaves would emerge within a day or two! That would make my plucking out, a lot more harder. Thereafter, I would have to use some sharp tool/knife to dig the soil and then overturn it to pull the entire thing out😐
Beloved ones, our heart ❤️ works exactly in the same manner as this ground that we see around us daily. God made our hearts as a good ground, to sow the seed that is His Word and water it with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Along with the sunshine of His Love and care, the heart brings forth beautiful characters of Jesus and a lifestyle that the loving Gardener would cherish. Well, there could be times, when the garden goes a bit uncared and weeds and grass pop up here and there! These make the garden look messy and over populated. So what do you do then?
The easiest way is to sprinkle enough water so as to make the ground completely wet and loosen the soil. The water reaches the deepest and slowly loosens the soil working its way upward. This means, every time we realise that evil natures and sins have creeped up within us, we need to repent and cry aloud to God! He never rejects a broken heart and a contrite spirit. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalms 51:17.
A repentant heart makes the work much easier because then the loving Gardener would first do a cleansing work on the heart with His blood and then slowly pull out the evil natures and set us free of them! Hallelujah! Guard your heart with all diligence because out of it are the issues of life.
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Psalms 34:18
May the Lord help us! 💕
