How To Build Your Spiritual Home With Evidence?

God gave Moses instructions for building the tabernacle.

According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.

Exodus 25:9

God gave David instructions about building the house of God, which he passed on to Solomon (1 Chronicles 28:11,12).

Paul reminds Timothy to uphold the lifestyle his grandmother and mother lived by (2 Timothy 1:5).

Paul expresses the need to be an example before those he preaches. So they realise God can change them too.

But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.

1 Timothy 1:16

Build your spiritual home with evidence; in God's word

Whether it is building the house of God or building our lives, we need to uphold a pattern of good works in doctrine.

We need to put on;

  1. un-corruptness (purity): a pure heart and a good conscience is possible in Christ. It solves two problems at once. Keeps your inner man spiritually fit and encourages others too. You become a friend everyone needs, rather than wants.
  2. gravity (seriousness): most people think loving God is no fun. When believers live out the joy of Jesus, they will not be able to deny the seriousness and true happiness found in Christ. They will either befriend you or hate you. At least the expectations for you are clear.
  3. sincerity (honesty): God sees our heart. The world sees our heart through the fruits. We cannot forget "why" God saved us.
  4. sound speech, that cannot be condemned; when the heart is full of love, the speech will be truthful and life-changing.

(Titus‬ ‭2:7-8‬)

These natures keep fault-finders at bay. They will one day feel the shame of meddling with the good work, called to do in Christ.

Stick to the pattern of the word of God. Look at Jesus (John 13:15). Desire and pray each day to do what He did. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen.
