How To Be A Good Friend?
Good friends? How good are your friends? What makes a friend "good"?
Who is good? Only God (Luke 18:19). What makes a friend good? He or she walks according to God's word.
We are friends of God only when we obey His word (John 15:14).
God called Abraham a friend. Abraham left his old life and people to become one with God. The moment Abraham decided to live for God, he lost all his earthly friends. He could no longer hang around with worldly idol worshippers.
God called Moses his friend (Exodus 33:11). The moment he left Egypt, Moses lost everything he had ever achieved. He was a runaway in a strange land with strange people for 40 years.
HOW SERIOUS IS OUR FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD?
God asked the Israelites to execute those in their core group who enticed them to go against God's word. (Deuteronomy 13:6-10). Do your friends guide you according to the word of God? If not, get out of that group immediately!
What's a beautiful friendship? One that brings us closer to God and keeps our minds renewed and refreshed in Him.
How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things? (Romans 10:15).
God calls our love for this world whoredoms. When we indulge in worldly gossip and idolise the power of wealth, we engage in whoredoms. Many young believers, though spirit-baptised, idolise worldliness. They have the spirit of the world and sin ruling their hearts.

A friend loves at all times (Proverbs 17:17).
Love holiness and keep your words gracious to be the friend of Jesus, our King (Proverbs 22:11).
A friend sharpens you in God's word (Proverbs 26:17). Be that friend.
Don't keep company with those who remain angry and bitter all the time (Proverbs 22:24)
Be Spirit-led to give hearty counsel. Refresh yourself in the sweet anointing of love daily (Proverbs 27:9).
