Have you intentionally caused division?
Of the things God hates, one of them is ‘sowing discord among believers’. (Proverbs 6:19)
When God hates something, as a believer, we must hate it vehemently too.
The first seed of discord sown in the world, was by Satan. Then by Adam, when he blamed Eve.
Why did Satan sow discord? He hated what God had planned for man - an inheritance incorruptible. He desired the throne of God, created for us (his Bride), and now his only motive is to steal, kill and destroy.
In the garden of Eden, the Satan deceived Adam and Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. The disobedience of man separated him from God. Sinful natures were sown in man. Man has been divided ever since. In between, they tried to unite on their own by creating a tower (Babel) so they could reach heaven on their own. Only for God to scatter the world apart because He knew mans evil desires.
“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Aren’t they caused by the selfish desires that fight to control you?” James 4:1
Our own desires which haven’t been put down at the feet of Jesus become a snare overtime. We sow habits that become strongholds into our lives, hindering our walk with God. We desire great many things for ourselves. While in sin, we enjoyed doing our own will. After receiving Christ, those natures continue to tempt us and cause divisions within us, in our hearts. If we are divided inside, we give room for false teachings and doctrines to invade us. In this current day and age, Satan is equipping false prophets and teachers with powers to lure the weaker Christians away from the truth.
'And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. For such men are counterfeit apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. ' 2 Corinthians 11:13-14
There seems to be an overflow of counterfeit Christianity. Worldly and smooth mouthed evangelicals are growing in number. Celebrity preachers who share a watered down version of the gospel, turning young Christians away from holiness and righteousness. Instead of preaching the powerful Word of God, many are trying to attract new souls by blending with cultural shifts, and fashions. This is heavily distracting the younger Christians today. Fellowships that aren’t entered around the Word but on cultural discussions and other babble. Music that is performance based rather than worship. Use of media and technology to showcase lifestyles that do not agree with the word of God.
The word of God will eventually judge all those who sow discord.
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7
God gives us the opportunity now to love His Word and keep ourselves in Him to judge ourselves and be living examples for His glory. Now is the time to pray for our children and youth. Pray with tears as we enter into a world of deception and lies. God is always present for those who seek Him. To overcome division, God desires we stay united in Spirit (Anointing) and in Truth (Word). Nothing can unite mankind, apart from God's Word.
