Doing All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me!
You see on a natural level, almost everyone depend on their own ability to do things. We prefer doing things on our own than take somebody’s help; and slowly this ability eventually starts to give us the increased sense of being able. But the fact is — Being able is purely the grace of God. It is indeed surprising to see how much we’ve taken God’s grace for granted! 😯Also how coolly we’ve allowed our own abilities to forget God’s grace and mercy in our lives!🙁
For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. Psalms 44:6 ❤️
In the Word of God we see David grew powerful with an army that could win many battles for him. Yet he humbled himself, waited and checked with God before he left for battle.
On the other hand, Moses, in the first 40 years of his life, was a brilliant man, highly able while at pharaoh’s house. In the next 40 years he became a nothing. He was walking up and down the mountains in the wilderness, busy tending his father-in-law’s sheep. During this time God changed the arrogant Moses into a meek servant-leader to lead God’s chosen people Israel for the next 40 years, out of Egypt.
Unless we become a zero, God cannot make us a hero. Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Unfortunately, Samson lost his ability because he grew overconfident. Solomon backslid because he went too far with his ability. This is where we need to be careful.
Conclusion: depending upon God for all things is the greatest security for us. Being able is a blessing that needs to be nurtured everyday in the presence of God. When we wilfully pray and be in fellowship, God renews and strengthens us for great works. Works that we could never have imagined.
This life is about Jesus. Our ability and stability comes from His presence in our lives and our availability to do His will. May we always stay poor in spirit for the Father to do His perfect will in and through us.
Be blessed 💕
