There are many references to a dove 🕊 in the Word of God. This bird does hold quite an important position in the Scriptures. Let’s see what they are:

• The first bird Noah sent after the floods was a dove.
• The New Testament Church is compared to a dove by the beloved.
• Isaiah the prophet compares the dove with the Israelites.
• Ephraim is compared with a dove.
• The third person in The Trinity i.e. the Holy Spirit is compared to a dove.
• It is a clean and pure bird; so people in the Old Testament brought doves as sacrifice into the Tabernacle.
• It is known for its swift wings. That’s why David also desired to have wings of a dove, fly away and be at rest.
