Prayer is Powerful

Do you know that Prayer is a weapon?Yes, dear child of God, Prayer is a sharp spiritual weapon. God wants us to pray. The entire Bible is filled with great warriors who fought their battles on their knees and got victory.Yet, the irony is, not many know the power of this weapon! No doubt, we do take prayers casually. But, those who invest in a life of prayer have great strength in them. With the strength they get from prayers they are able to face any kind of situation.Our fight is not against flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:12 clearly tells us who our enemy is.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

‭‭We cannot fight this fight with our physical strength. In the world, battles are fought with tanks and missiles. People fight against each other using fists and guns. But those whose dwelling is not with the flesh, fight all their battles on their knees in prayer. When we pray, Jesus fights our battles and makes us victorious.How do we get this strength in prayer?When we shed tears and pray to God with a broken and a contrite heart, the Lord hears our prayer. Often, the different kinds of situations we go through makes our heart become hard. But when that hard heart breaks, tears begin flowing from the eyes. God desires such a sacrifice from us. The answers to such prayers come quickly. Psalms 51:17 makes this clear for us,

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

‭‭This is how Daniel prayed, when he knew that the king's commandment had been passed. He supplicated before God with a broken heart. Daniel 6:10.The Old Testament prophets were great people. They spoke the oracles of God in the Spirit. But in His presence, they would weep bitterly for the people. One such example is Prophet Jeremiah. He is called the Weeping Prophet. In Jeremiah 9:1 he says, "Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears." He weeps and laments looking at the desolation of the people - Lamentations 2:13,17-19.Look at the prayer life of Jesus. He prayed from the depth of His heart. The prayer of Jesus is a prayer of Intercession and Supplication.Dear brother, dear sister do not consider weeping/shedding tears in God's presence as a sign of weakness. When a little child wants something, it cries like crazy before it's parents. If the parent delays in fulfilling the child's ask, the entire neighbourhood comes to know of it. Do you think the child is crying because it is weak? No, the child needs that 'something' desperately and therefore it cries till it's wish is fulfilled. Then how much more our weeping should also be!!Let's ask God to grant us the Spirit of Prayer in these days to pray earnestly and use it as a Weapon for all of our battles.Be blessed!
