An Inheritance Incorruptible!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 1 Peter‬ ‭1:3-4‬ ‭

Family fight over ancestral property” — I am sure you would have heard of such stories at some point!! Well, this sort of madness isn’t specific to any one region or country; this happens across the globe.

Some go to the extent of even murdering members of another family, when they aren’t satisfied with what’s been given to them. How miserable ☹️

We see something similar to this in the Scriptures as well. King Ahab was greedy for the vineyard belonging to Naboth. Look how desperate he was, And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. 1 Kings‬ ‭21:2‬

Naboth bluntly told him - No. That vineyard was an inheritance of his fathers. (1kings 21:3) But sad to say, he had to pay a price — his own life.

But, beloved child of the Heavenly Father, let me remind you that there is an inheritance reserved, for you, in heaven. That’s what even Apostle Peter also reiterates in his epistle - mentioned in the key verse.

This lively hope has been given to us by God the Father, through Jesus, by His resurrection from the dead. How awesome is that!!

And the best part of it all — THIS INHERITANCE IS ETERNAL. It is Incorruptible, Undefiled, and does not fade away; unlike anything here. Land and property on earth is temporal; short lived; can be eaten by moths and rotten; can be stolen by thieves. In short, one earthquake and everything is gone!!

Seek those things that are above and set your affections on them. Your efforts in this regard is worth the time spent. Also, seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Mathew 6:33)

May God help us all!

Be blessed 💕
