St.Paul writing to young Timothy, exhorts him saying he should know he ought to behave himself in the house of God. 1 Timothy 3:15. Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. Isaiah 56:7.
Spiritual House
New Testament believers are lively stones that are being built upon the Christ the chief corner stone. Together we are being built up into a Spiritual house, for a holy and dedicated priesthood. Why? To offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Peter2:5. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Ephesians 2:20. We are God’s building.
God’s husbandry(vineyard)
Yes..!! The New Testament Church is God’s vineyard. There He sows the seed of His Word and nourishes it through His Spirit and waits for the ground to bring forth much fruits so that He can enjoy them!! For we are God’s fellow workers [His servants working together]; you are God’s cultivated field [His garden, His vineyard], God’s building. 1 Corinthians 3:9. The Word of God also cautions — Many shepherds have ruined My vineyard, They have trampled down My field; They have made My pleasant field A desolate wilderness. Jeremiah 12:10.
God’s Temple
Through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we become God’s temple. He comes and dwells in our heart and makes us His own. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. We should be very careful in preserving our bodies in holiness.
Do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “THE TWO SHALL BE ONE FLESH.” But the one who is united and joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:16-18.
