5 Types Of Followers Of Jesus

Social Media helps accumulate a lot of followers with diligent focused content. There's a tribe for every topic in this world. But, not all are genuine followers, isn't it? Not everyone loves the brand or celebrity but are in it for the freebies.

Jesus had great multitudes following Him wherever He went. Not all were genuine followers. Not all were following Him because they really believed in him; they loved the freebies.

What are some of the types of followers we see?

Those who followed Jesus or the apostles.

1. People who marvelled at his healing power (John 6:2)
2. Some were attracted by the miracles, signs and wonders (Acts 8:9-21)
3. A few loved the free food (John 6:26)
4. Some believed but walked out as they realised it’s a hard road (John 6:60-66)
5. The 12 disciples followed Jesus because he had the words of eternal life (John 6:67-71)

Why are you following Jesus? Did you believe the truth? If yes, is your lifestyle reflecting the heart of God? Do you sincerely desire to be like Jesus everyday?

I’ve been sick with fever for over 14 days now. While the sickness is gone, body weakness persists. For over 10 days I could not pray or read the word of God. When I eventually began reading the Bible, I realised how can anyone live without these beautiful words of life! The word of God had an immediate effect on my being. Prior to that I was ravaged by all sorts of evil thoughts. When I received my strength, rebuked them all. There’s nothing like the word of God.

God's love in Jesus is our way of life. We did not fall for a clever story, but have experienced the love of the almighty God (2 Peter 1:16). Let our lives abound in God's love daily for His glory alone. Maranatha, praise God and amen.
