4 Ways To Spread The Light!

Every one of God's children, is called to be a light by her Maker. Lights shining everywhere. How delighted the Wise MasterBuilder would be to see little lights glowing in this cold dark world! Isn't it? Want to know how you can shine for Jesus?

Four simple ways to shine for Jesus and spread the light

1. Our life - Our life is compared to a candle. (Luke 11:33) Light emanates from this candle. There is a wick, which keeps the fire going. If the wick turns black, we cut it so that the fire can burn well. Wick - secret sins. If we confess and forsake it, we will have mercy (Proverbs 28:13).

2. By not comparing ourselves with others but faithfully looking to Jesus we can shine for Him. (Philippians 2:15 and 2 Corinthians 10:12). He didn't ask us to look around to compare and contrast. So look to Jesus and shine for Him.

3. Simplicity in our daily lives - Our eating and drinking habits, how we present ourselves, etc. Daniel alongwith his friends were a shining light for those in the palace. You know why? Because they ate and drank ordinary food and water, yet "their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat" (Daniel 1:12-15). Avoid extravagant food habits.

4. Having a life resting on Jesus - (Matt 11:28,29) Jesus gives an open invitation to all who are labouring much and are thereby burdened by it. As we rest upon Him, His peace unburdens our heart and we can be a shining light for Jesus. Our rest also comes from the Holy Spirit (Isa 28:11,12). This rest comes when we speak in unknown tongues and receive the refreshing in our spirit. But if we seek our bed to rest upon when we are burdened, it will lead us to darkness (Job 7:13,14).
