An attitude of gratitude helps overcome anxiety

Your faith has made you whole, said Jesus to a leper who came to thank Him. What happens when you come to Jesus believing? You will become whole - spirit, soul and body.

We are in the dying hours of our spiritual battles. Soon it will all be over. Our faith will get tested so we can become more precious than gold. The leper suffered through his horrible sickness with no hope of healing till he met Jesus. Ten got healed on the day, but only one thanked God. Like many who come to church for healing but never desire to obey God’s word or follow Him.

It is the will of God that we thank Him for everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Give thanks to God always for all things (Ephesians 5:20). Whatever we do in word or deed, we need to be thankful. (Colossians 3:17)

Three things about thanking God we need to know;

PRAYING WITH GRATITUDE PRODUCES RESULTS

The psalmist encourages us to enter the presence of God with thanks and praise (Psalms 100:4). God is good, and His presence is glorious. It is a privilege to be in His fellowship. You will see results in prayer when you begin with thanks and praise.

THANKING GOD HELPS OVERCOME ANXIETY

We worry because we do not thank God (Philippians 4:6). Thanking God involves remembering the great things God has done in your life. Sincere heartfelt gratitude draws fresh hope, love and joy from heaven.

BE ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN CHRIST

When we are rooted and grounded in Christ, we abound in thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:7) We learn to be grateful like Jesus, who exemplified thankfulness.

Do you thank God all the time, dear brother/ sister? Are you grateful for His abundant mercies and grace in your life? Nothing in the word of God is a casual statement. Every statement is powered to change our lives.

Keep thanking God, and let the Spirit of God prepare you for His soon return. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
