5 Ways God Is Our Refuge!

And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. Isaiah‬ ‭32:2‬

FYI - This verse was a prophecy concerning our dear Saviour, Lord Jesus Christ. The Man mentioned here refers to Him. God is our Refuge and Strength; a very present help in trouble. Psalms 46:1. The tempest and wind mentioned in the verse does not refer to a literal storm/tempest but to the various trials and temptations that come in the life of a child of God ❤️

Job lost everything he had — all of his 10 kids, cattle, wealth, house and servants, all in one single day. Oh, not only this!! His body was filled with sores from the top of his head till his feet. Like Job, we may also in our lives, face problems like these; but no loss will occur to those who have entrusted themselves in this Man’s Refuge. He is our hiding place.

5 WAYS THE LORD HAS WORKED, HAS BEEN WORKING AND WILL CONTINUE TO WORK FOR US:

He worked as a Representative for us - Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah‬ ‭6:8‬. We needed a propitiation/reconciliation for our sins. Hence, Jesus took our sins upon Himself and became the sacrifice for us. Romans 3:25. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) but Jesus chose to die for you and me, so that we could be delivered from death, who once ruled over us. Jesus came to earth with a willing heart and mind and in Him we were delivered from God’s wrath, which should have come upon us otherwise.

He continues to work as an Intercessor for us - The Old Testament saints were crying for a man who would intercede on behalf of them. Look at the cry of Job. O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour! Job‬ ‭16:21. But graciously, we the New Testament saints have Jesus who intercedes for us before the Father. And because of which we are saved from the onslaught of the devil. Hebrews 7:25. He has planted us like green olive trees in His garden. Throughout this year, we may not have probably given Him the best of fruits. Therefore at least in the last month of this year, lets bring forth some fruit for God so that He is satisfied with us.

He is the Man who gives us peace. Micah 5:5. Before the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, there was a wall of partition between God and us. Ephesians 2:14,15. Jesus broke this middle wall of partition and reconciled us back again to the Father. However, if you think you still lack peace, it’s because you haven’t fully given your heart to the Man of Peace. John 14:27. The one who controls the world wants people to be troubled and afraid. But Jesus says, Let not your heart be troubled! John 14:1.

He proved Himself as a Substitution - He took upon Himself, all our grief and sorrow. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:4. In our affliction, He is also afflicted.

He is the Ever Living Man - Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. John‬ ‭14:19‬. A life of disobedience results in death, but obedience brings about life. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation‬ ‭1:18‬

Be blessed 💕
