What Is Grace? (Part 2/2)

In the Old Testament period during the time of Moses, God asked him to make a Tabernacle. God also gave him a pattern as to how he should make it. The Tabernacle consisted of 3 parts - it had The Outer Court, The Holy Place and The Most Holy Place. Each of these parts had certain items and the Levites used to do their ministry in them.Inside The Most Holy Place, we find the Ark of God. This part of the tabernacle is called the Holiest of all. Once in a year, only the High Priest could enter the Most Holy Place with blood. He offered it for himself and for the errors of others (Hebrews 9:7, 25)

But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:‭‭

The Ark of God had a Mercy Seat on it. The description of which and how it should be made is mentioned in Exodus 25:17 onwards. In the New Testament period, this very Mercy Seat is called The Throne of Grace. We read about this is Hebrews 4:16. It says,

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We go to the throne of Grace to get help in time of need. Thus, in the New Testament church we see about Grace. When Jesus came to this world, grace also came along - John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This grace does not only preserve us from danger, but it also has a great purpose. Through the Order of Melchisedec, God is fulfilling this purpose. Aaronic Order belongs to the Old Testament period. This ministry had certain rules and laws which the Levite's had to follow. But through this ministry no one was perfected. How do we get this Grace?

  • By humility
  • By the fear of God
  • By sanctification
  • By obeying the Word of God
  • By preserving fellowship with God.

What great work does Grace do for us? 2 Corinthians 8:9 says,

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Our begging bowl (the bowl found in the hands of the little boy) refers to our sickness, sins, wickedness, injustice etc. All of this is cleansed and sanctified through the Blood of Jesus - Hebrews 10:10. Jesus is rich in grace, faith and holiness. We have access into this grace through faith - Romans 5:2. And by this faith we are able to stand. So we should not waste the grace of God in our lives. To grow in our spiritual life we need God's Grace in us.Finally, the Lord is preparing a kingdom for us. A kingdom that cannot be moved - Hebrews 12:28. This kingdom is divided into 3 parts:-

  • The kingdom of His dear Son - Colossians 1:13
  • The kingdom of the saints - Daniel 7:18-21,27
  • The kingdom of The Father - Revelation 11:15

In order to be partakers of this kingdom we need to live in the fear of God and separate ourselves from disorderly brethren. We must remove pride, arrogancy, a froward speaking mouth and every evil way from us. Then we can become a godly seed - Malachi 2:15

And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

Be blessed!
