Words can make or break you
King Solomon says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21. Imagine how important it is for us to not only keep our words few, but also watch what comes out of our mouth!
What did Delilah’s Words do?
Delilah destroyed Samson with her words. Samson was a mighty man of faith and valour. A few days of nagging and coaxing brought down the might of Samson — And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. Judges 16:16-17
What happened in the garden of Eden?
The serpent beguiled Eve with much talk. She, in turn, indulged her husband, Adam. What happened? Like Samson, the very word of God was removed from their hearts and replaced with the subtle deception of the devil (serpent). Genesis 3:4-6.
What can we do as believers?
Dear child of God — How are your conversations today? Are your words of faith or fear? Do you uplift others or tear them down? Are you speaking words of faith even to yourself? Remember, death and life are in the power of the tongue!
Will there be faith when Jesus comes? Faith comes by hearing the word of God. Be careful of subtle words of fear and lies that seep into your daily conversations. Think, meditate on Gods word daily and speak life. May the Lord help us!
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14
Be blessed! 💕
Amen. Our words are life. We should maximize it and use it rightly. 💯
Totally, Mercy! 😊❤️ Thank you so much 🤗
That old saying “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” is an absolute lie. Words are very powerful – they can both destroy families and heal a broken heart. I love the Biblical examples that you listed. We must constantly dwell on God’s Word (Matthew 15:18).
You are right, Reagan! 😊❤️ Words are very powerful and only when we really care will our words be of edification to others!! Thank you! God bless!
Amen, I agree. When we understand the importance and power of words, we can use them for good. The Bible says death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Just as fire can cause great destruction, tamed, and controlled it can be a great blessing to us. So it is with words. Life is in the power of the tongue. That means life is controlled by words. I repeat: life is controlled by words. Words release authority. Words determine the course of events. Words matter.
Amen! Absolutely! 😊❤️ May the Lord help us to use our words to edify others and bless His name continually!
