What does it mean to live a simple life?

A simple lifestyle has nothing to do with your income and expenses. It has nothing to do with the school you go to or job you are in. It has nothing to do with this world and its materiality.

Adam had it simple before sin. He did not have to think about his future or worry about day to day issues. He had a close communion with Jesus every evening. Adam received instructions to live daily and was satisfied. He did not know any other way of life apart from the one he enjoyed with God.

What changed the simple life we were created to live?

Sin disrupted the simple lifestyle. It disconnected the beautiful relationship man had with Jesus. Man had everything in abundance, yet he desired to have more than he thought was necessary for him. His desire did not sync with God's desire for him. His disobedience brought sin into his lifestyle. Sin corrupted every area in man's life. Today, man is struggling in every area because he is disconnected from the one who created him.

Jesus restored everything on the cross. Unless we do not connect with Jesus we will find life complicated. Unless we do not keep Him in the center of all we do, then we will suffer unnecessarily. We will suffer nevertheless because of sin, but with Jesus by our side.

Don't simply live life, rather live the simple lifestyle found only in Christ Jesus. If you are His sheep, you will surely hear His voice. There is no lifestylr more extraordinary about the simple life we have in Jesus. There is no lifestyle outside of the simple life in Christ.

King Solomon sums up it best.

Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
