The Good Samaritan!

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭

The man who fell among thieves

In the Scriptures we read about the parable of a man who was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. On the way, he came up against thieves who attacked him, stripped him of his clothes, beat him and left him half dead. Luke 10:30.

As he was lying there, wounded and completely punctured two people (a Levite and a priest) went past him, but neither of them bothered to help him. But then, a Samaritan was journeying by that way and came to the place where this man was lying. FYI — The Samaritans were typically unaccepted folks by the Jewish community.

Yet this Samaritan, when he saw the half dead wounded man, had great compassion on him. Quickly he went over to him, dressed his wounds pouring oil and wine (to soothe and disinfect the injuries), then set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him. Luke 10:30-35.

HALLELUJAH....!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!

How is this applicable in our life?

Dear loving child of the Heavenly Father, the half dead wounded man refers to you and me, who were once dead in our sins and trespasses. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John‬ ‭3:16‬. God quickened us together with Christ, having forgiven us all our trespasses and raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:5,6; Colossians 2:13.

Jerusalem spiritually refers to the house of God, house of prayer; a place where we have an intimate relationship with God. Jericho can be compared to a place of business, the world. When we leave the Presence of God to venture out into world which is filled with worldliness, the enemy will come after us and rob us of all good things God gave us. Jesus was the Good Samaritan God sent to save us from the pitiful state we were in! He had mercy on us in our low estate and saved us.

Therefore, instead of being attacked and robbed by the enemy, lets guard our houses (our lives) by continuing to have our close walk with God and being in His Presence. May God help us! ❤️
