Speak To The Rock!

At one point during the Israelites’ journey, they couldn’t find water; the people therefore began complaining and protesting against Moses💧💦

And the people strove with Moses, and spake, saying, Would that we had died when our brethren died before Jehovah! And why have ye brought the assembly of Jehovah into this wilderness, that we should die there, we and our beasts? And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. Numbers‬ ‭20:3-5‬

The Lord God, on hearing the disputing of the Israelites, asked Moses and Aaron his brother to take the rod, assemble the congregation and just SPEAK TO THE ROCK that was right before them, and then — water would flow from the Rock.

However, Moses was so overwhelmed with the complaints of the people that out of anger, he took the rod and without thinking twice, smote the Rock - not Once, but Twice!! 🤢

The Rod refers to the Promises of God, which should be found in our hand daily. Child of God, confess the Promises that God has given you through His Word over any difficult situation in life. The Rock refers to Jesus; He was the Rock who followed the Israelites throughout their journey. 1 Corinthians 10:4.

Having said this, Moses did exactly the opposite of what God told him to do. Speaking to the Rock means sharing everything about our life with God. But Moses instead of speaking to the Rock hit it two times, out of anger.

God cannot hear a prayer that is filled with anger and resentment. Mark 11:25 says, ...And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Moses lost his chance of entering the Promised land of Canaan.

May God help us to search our life and see how we have been living these past days. Let’s be people who are forgiving❤️
