The purpose to glorify God alone is the design in which we were created. The purpose to reflect God’s goodness in a sinful world. Only God is good. If we do any good, the credit belongs to God alone, not us. Therefore, praise is only natural for the One who deserves it.
The fact that we still believe in Jesus is proof that it is God who gives us the will and desire to do of His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).
We’ve already been decided for by God (Ephesians 1:11), there’s no changing that because He thought of us before the foundations of the earth.
He knew us in our mother’s womb and this day He has kept us in Him. His thoughts for us has been of peace and an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11).
Only “I” can separate Jesus from me. Only “I” can separate myself from the purpose God has called me into. The selfish nature of man is the work of sin in unsaved man. The nature of self working in a believer is a revelation of the choices he is making even after knowing the good God.
How To stick to the purpose till the end?
A complete surrender understanding that all things will work well in Christ.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:20)
Living in love with the understanding that whether we live or die, it will be in the Lord (Romans 14:8).
Like Paul, we must stick to finishing our course (Acts 20:24), fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12) so we are able to say confidently, by the grace, love and power of God that “I’ve kept the faith”.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: (2 Timothy 4:7)
When we have that testimony daily, we will be meeting Jesus in the air, soon and very soon. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen.
