How To Provoke One Another?

To provoke or stir someone is a way of life on Social Media. You can provoke people in many ways. Primarily, in two ways, Good or Bad.

What kind of provocation does God encourage in His word? What does it take to provoke or stir others?

There are various way to stir one another in the Lord, I want to briefly share only two.

To Provoke in Love

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works : Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24, 25)

We, as believers, are called to encourage one another in the love of God. Not only to love one another, but also provoke one another to love in Him. One of the ways to love another is by being together in fellowship. Physically present to serve one another and grow together in the Lord.

It is easy to encourage from afar, but not that easy when we are face to face. (Specially when we get to know more than we should know about each other.) Why is it necessary to encourage? To prepare each other for the coming of the Lord.

Why is necessary to encourage (physical presence) one another? It was the nature of the early church where they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers (Acts 2:42). Also, we were created for fellowship.

Stir through Good Works

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works (Hebrews 10:24)

Everyone understands the common good works of helping and serving one another outwardly (1 Timothy 5:10). What is critical is the need for spiritual good works that leads to Godly living by sharing doctrine with sincerity and gravity (Titus 2:7).

In order to stir ourselves in good works, we must walk worthy of God, pleasing Him, increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10).

What some believers forget is the need to share the word of God with others. It is the necessary ingredient of every work we do outwardly. Whatever we do we do it unto Him (Colossians 3:17).

The world is getting more 'Sodom and Gomorrah' like, what's the need of the hour? Teach Love and Good Works according to the Word of God.
