Emptied of His glory, God became a man. To walk on earth in ridicule and shame. You don’t need to walk in shame anymore. He’s done it already. Does that mean you will not have things to be ashamed of or you won’t find yourselves in shameful situations, No.
He desires we walk in victory. God desires the victorious Jesus walk in you daily. He has taught us how to overcome shameful past lifestyles.
No To Shame
Stop being ashamed of all you’ve done. It’s history; all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Now on, sin no more. Follow Jesus. Let God make your life a Testimony.
A woman was brought before the Lord by Jews who were ready to stone her according to the law. While they were right according to the law, they were wrong to decide her fate on their own having being sinful themselves. Also, not bringing all those who sinned with her.
Jesus, in His infinite wisdom, asked any man without sin to stone her. None did. Since no one condemned her, Jesus also did not; but asked her to never sin again. How to not sin again? Follow Jesus.
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:11,12)
No To Fear Of Backlash
Stop being afraid of backlash from your past. Often many live in this fear that someone from the past will come and spoil their future. This fear, like every other fear, fills the heart and does not give any room for God’s love to manifest. The person ends up living in captivity, spiritual bondage that Jesus has already set you free from; on the cross of Calvary. This freedom is sought by faith and growing in the Word to stand through every trial or temptation that may come again.
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (1 Peter 1:7)
No To Self Condemnation
Stop condemning yourself (Romans 8:1).
Think like God; what does He think about you?
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; (1 Peter 2:9)
Adam missed prayers and fellowship because the guilt of sin overcame him. He did not repent even after his disobedience. An unrepentant heart begins to erode all Godly characters in us.
To live victoriously over past shame is by leaning on Jesus alone. If the past follows you, it’s bearable, don’t let it overtake you. It’ll get insufferable.
Look at Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. He is coming for His overcoming Bride.
