Do you want to see God? It’s possible. Jesus said, it is possible. It’s impossible for man to try on his own.
On the mount, when Jesus gave his sermon, he said…
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
Born in sin, it’s impossible for man to see God. Sinful man cannot fathom God, forget seeing him. But, when life happens there is a gap that begins to form inside which no material or physical can fill. Mans inner, spiritual vacuum requires a filling, answers that go beyond what earthly eyes can behold.
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” (1 Peter 1:7-9)
Faith is the foundation of Christian life. Without faith it is impossible to please God. There is no moving forward without faith. It is the shield for a Christian warrior. Gold in its purest form needs to go through fire. Our faith too will need to be tested and tried, refined to its purest form for us to be prepared for the coming of the Lord. Only those who walk by faith will see Jesus in His appearing.
But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. (Acts 7:55, 56)
Stephen was a mighty young man of God. His love for God is evident in his devotion to the ministry given to him. Every believer has a ministry, according to the grace given by God. A life of faith is full of suffering as evidenced by Stephen’s persecution and of other apostles in the Bible. Paul shares of his ordeals in various letters to the churches.
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (Hebrews 12:14)
Many youth do not realise why they end up going back to sexual lusts. It’s because of bitterness in their hearts that allows the devil to enter into their hearts to defile them. Our purity should not be restricted to just fleeing sexual sins, but also from all evil natures “small or big”. It’s impossible to enter heaven with any evil nature in us, and unless we do not surrender ourselves to God daily in strong prayers and intercessions we will not be able to preserve our purity.
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:” (1 Peter 1:18-22)
