A heart for God needs to be pure. Why not? Would you drink out of a dirty cup? Is it okay to speak lies when you came from the mind of Truth? The purity we need is from above. This purity isn’t the same false feelings or humanly defined state of purity. It is the holiness of God.

A Pure Heart for God sets you up to see God

Without holiness, no man can see God (Hebrews 12:14). Esau caved in by the lusts of the flesh and lost his birthright. What was the cause? A root of bitterness against his own brother cost him dearly.

Jesus, at the sermon on the mount said;

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8)

A Heart of Obedience

A heart for God desires holiness because He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). Holiness requires we walk in the knowledge of God. Be a spiritual people, found in obedience to God’s word.

A Heart for God needs a Holy Vessel

Holiness is not only required for the spirit and soul, but also for the body. We are the temple of God, and should be found surrendered wholly (1 Corinthians 6:19,20). Refrain from conversation and indulgence that is filthy and unclean.

Created in true holiness

We are created in true holiness (Ephesians 4:24) when we are born again.

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. (Ephesians 4:23-25)

Let’s stay in the wonderful experience that God has sown us in so we may reap fruits for His glory. Jesus is coming soon, Praise God and Amen.
