How Is Your Heart?

A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. (Proverbs 18:2)

There are so many loose, misguiding quotes floating around online. Often gullible Christians quote them too. We are in an increasingly “instant” world. There’s hardly any room for patience. Instant everything - medicine, answers to life, pain killers,

“Everything” is available on the internet. On cloud servers.

Fortunately, NO!

What you really need is beyond the “cloud(s)”. In the Heavens where God is, in the heart of whom the Holy Spirit is. Yes, Jesus did say He, The Father and The Holy Spirit will reside in us, when we abide in Him (John 15:4).

We are called to stay in the anointing of God (Romans 8:14).

What is the State of the unsanctified Heart?

What did Prophet Jeremiah say about the heart of man?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

What does Jesus say about the heart of man

And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: (Mark 7:20-22)

See the pattern? We were a total mess. There was nothing we could do to save ourselves. There was no repair, till Jesus came along and shed His precious blood for us on Calvary, rose again the third day. Jesus brings believers (anyone who believes) victory over death, sin, and sicknesses.

When we enter the Salvation experience by confessing with our mouth, and believe Jesus rose from the dead, from our hearts, then we enter into a lifestyle of victory and joy.

Our victorious lifestyle over all these evil natures is sustained by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Our hearts are then filled with amazing, fresh love that is pure and perfect.

“... because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5:5)

One of the aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit is LOVE (Galatians 5:22, 23)

How do we check-up our heart? We examine it in the light of the Word of God.

What does the Word of God do?

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

The Word of God has the power to sanctify our hearts (John 17:17).

The Holy Spirit of God sanctifies our hearts too. (Romans 8:13) (Colossians 3:5)

When we spend quality time in prayer and meditating the word of God, He moves us in ways we never imagined. This is a privilege, a gift, and it is given to all those who have been shown mercy, to be living examples here on earth.

May God enable you to give 100% of your heart to Him daily, to thrive in His Word and Power.
