God Speaks Through Dreams!!

Psst: What I am about to share with you might be a bit comic, 😊 but I did learn something from it. Read on to know more!!

God has various ways of speaking to His people. He speaks to them through dreams, sometimes through songs, Word of God, prophecies, visions, directly speaking or even through counsel. As for me, He usually speaks through dreams — of things (personal/otherwise) I need to be warned of, beforehand.

One night in my dream I heard a loud 💥 — an explosion had occurred. The gas-stove cylinder in my kitchen had burst, it caught fire and almost the whole house was filled with smoke. We used to live in a three storey building then. I remember being quite worried in the dream; also not knowing what to do because the fire would burn the whole building and everyone would be in trouble.

My dream broke; I was absolutely petrified and kept wondering why I saw such an awful dream. The next morning, I narrated the entire episode to my husband. Now, this dream occurred to me not once but twice 😳 The second time I saw, that was also on the same lines😄 I understood God was telling me something; but I didn’t quite understand what it really meant, and also that it would be this literal.

Note: Everytime I entered the kitchen, I used to get the smell of gas leaking; but even then missed checking the cylinder and pipe!! I admit, I was careless🤭

During those days, my parents were visiting us and somehow this dream managed to slip off my mind. One day my dad decided to get inside the kitchen and take a look for himself, if everything was fine (you know how parents are!! They don’t sit still even during holidays)😉. Well, he was checking the gas stove, the pipe that connected it to the cylinder etc.

And guess what!! 😱 though the pipe looked all good, it was already cut; only a very little part of it was still attached to the main pipe. My dad stood still for a moment. He then showed me what he discovered and scolded me for being irresponsible. At that point I remembered this dream and was so thankful to God that inspite of my foolishness, the Lord protected us from a grave danger.

Moral : Often, when God warns us ahead of time, we take them lightly thinking God will protect. But that’s when we need to pause, slow down and check why He is revealing it to us. As the proverb goes this way, Prevention is better than Cure; being aware and alert will work best.

Be blessed 💕
