Why suicide is murder

What is suicide? Suicide is murder.

  • A deliberate effort to kill your self because of hopelessness. A decision made by choice or self will.
  • A person lost control, killed self, motivated by inner demons. How did the demons get access? When we consciously (while in control of our mental faculties) consistently disobey God’s word and present a false imagery of ourselves, demons join in adding that extra push to destroy the soul.

This is a war against us by wicked spiritual forces. We were never brought into this marvellous light to settle on this earth.

Either ways, it is an intentional choice of a ‘believer’. Both the above journeys are a fruit of seeds of unbelief sown into us. It is a submission to the spirit of death which Jesus overcame through the power of resurrection.

Why suicide is murder…

When we decide to end our lives on our own, we go against God’s desire to heal and restore us. If ending ourselves was God’s will, He would never have saved us. It would never have pleased God to bruise His own son for our sake.

“But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.” (Isaiah‬ ‭53:5, 10‬ )

As believers our body belongs to Him (1 Corinthians 6:19,20). We cannot choose to kill ourselves after knowing He can transform us.

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19-20‬)

When does this desire overcome us? When we do not trust in His strength anymore. One cannot claim to trust in God’s restorative power and still choose to give up.

Suicide is murder; there's hope for those who seek it

When all (relying on own ability and ideas) hope is gone, Christ is our only hope. Jesus is our example for a reason - He never gave up, despite the suffering being too much for His physical body. He prayed surrendering, let your will be done. When we are saved, we are empowered by the blood of Jesus, word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. If we are truly saved, then we know what to do because we believe that God can rescue us from any state if we sincerely repent.

We need to be careful not to be seduced by false worldly narratives that glorify victim mentality and call one another survivors. Believers are called to be overcomers! (Revelation 1:6/3:21)

We are close to the end. Our light affliction is for a moment which will result in a far exceeding glory (2 Corinthians 4:17). Jesus is coming soon. Praise God and Amen!
