Why Read The Bible?

WHY READ THE BIBLE? It is the book of life. It prepares us (now) for the eternal life God has planned for us to be with Him.

Every other book we study in school or college is only for this life. Sadly most of what we study in education becomes irrelevant or loses value over time because of scientific and technological advances.

Yet, how much sweat and blood we shed to study and learn! In the end, we lose heart. The education we receive (in the world) does not know how to deal with the heart.

  1. Prophet Jeremiah says, who can know the heart? (Jeremiah 17:9)

  2. King David asks God in prayer to examine his inner man. To test his mind and heart (Psalms 26:2)

  3. King Solomon says to guard your heart because it hosts too many issues (Proverbs 4:23)

  4. Apostle Paul says his heart is often distressed and troubled during ministry, but nothing can separate him from doing God's perfect will.

What happens when we read the Bible?

Our strength and heart will fail, but those who trust in God in prayer and Bible meditation will receive strength from Him. (Psalms 73:26)

Only God knows the thoughts and intents of the heart (1 Chronicles 28:9). Jesus is the living word of God, who, when we put on, helps us realize how we are inside (Hebrews 4:12). While on earth, Jesus knew how people perceived His words. The Holy Spirit knows us better than we know ourselves (Romans 8:26).

The Bible is the living word of God. It is alive and full of firepower that will quench the deceit and lies filled in us over time.

Will you believe in the power of God’s word? If you believe by faith and obey, you will see the glory of God. Get ready to meet Jesus. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen.
