Where does our help come from?
We all need help, of some kind or the other, isn’t it?🤔 That brings us to the next question — If at all someone helps, can far can they? Well..!! Honestly speaking, people (our family or friends) can help us only till a certain point, to some extent.
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper. Psalms‬ â€30:10‬
FOR A BELIEVER, HELP COMES FROM ABOVE! What does the Word of God teach us about this?
Help comes from God
- Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah‬ â€41:10
- I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Psalms‬ â€121:1-2‬
Christ our help
- For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews‬ â€4:15‬ — Jesus our high priest was tempted at all points. And so, He is well able to understand and relate to every trial and temptation, we go through.
- Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews‬ â€4:16‬ — Throne of Grace refers to coming into His presence. He helps us come out of our temptations victoriously when we go to Him 🙌
Holy Spirit is our help
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans‬ â€8:26 — St.Paul says, Pray without ceasing. How is that possible? That’s when the Holy Spirit helps us to pray. He helps us in our weakness and brings into our minds, people whom we need to intercede.
Help from the Sanctuary
Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Psalms‬ â€20:2‬. Sanctuary refers to a place of refuge — the house of God. Fellowship, in a way, can be compared to a place of refuge. An example - In the Old Testament, Hannah ran into the house of God and poured out her request before Him. The Lord did not put her to shame.
Therefore, may the Lord help us all to continue putting our trust entirely on Him and seek Him for every need.
Be blessed! đź’•
