Walk In Obedience

Most Christians love miracles and healings more than walking in obedience. In the process, they get drawn to people rather than God, who sent the healing.

When Peter encountered the lame man at the temple (Acts 3:12), he asked the people why they were looking so earnestly at them. They were drawn to Peter and John and felt these people had power or were holy that's why the lame man got miraculously healed.

Peter humbles himself to give the glory due to God and to the name of Jesus. (Acts 3:16)

Peter loved Jesus more than anyone or anything. He learnt from his mistakes to submit his life entirely to the calling of God upon his life. His love for Jesus followed with signs and wonders.

Signs and wonders follow believers. Yet, many old believers today have forgotten God, who does the wonders to run after signs and wonders.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO WALK IN OBEDIENCE?

We need a wholehearted love for God to walk in His power and holiness. You may be a full-time minister or a believer with a job. Loving God wholeheartedly isn't exclusive to full-time servants of God.

Jesus said, if you love, you will obey. It's an inevitable response. We've experienced obedience that flows from love in our lives.

Love produces the faith we need to trust in the name of Jesus. God's name will be greater than any name in your life when you stop idolising other names or run after your name.

You will be able to enjoy the power and holiness of God, like Peter and John when you seek His love and glorify His name. He will do it!

Simon, the sorcerer who got saved, desired to buy with money the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 8). Watching God work through Peter, as new believers received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, he desired to do the same. Some new believers are like that as well. They enjoy the word initially and desire the power, only to get scolded and disappointed in their walk.

Prophet Isaiah recognised his defiled state when humbling himself in the presence of God. (Isaiah 6)

Dear believer, Christ is our lifestyle. If you believe, you will see the glory of God. Desire only to know the Father's love.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
