The love of money is the root of all evil
The early church suffered tribulations, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, perils, and sword (Romans 8:35). Hebrews 11 reveals the travails of the heroes of faith in the Old Testament. How much they suffered for the truth and laboured for the Lord. Peter was jailed. Paul was stoned and left half-dead, and many were killed for simply believing in Christ.
Jesus Himself suffered physically and was crucified to die a brutal death for the sake of the world.
As New Testament saints, what is Jesus warning us about the last days? The cares, riches and pleasures of life will be our worst enemies.
The standards seem to have dropped compared to the early church. But when we examine the context, a lot has changed during the New Testament period since the apostles.
MONEY 💰🤑 MONEY MONEY
The influence of consumerism through the power of advertising and subtle business practices makes us buy things we don't need. In the name of convenience, security, and productivity, we have acquired tastes and mindsets that distract us from the calling of God in our lives. We are consuming media as if it's the real news and ignoring the good news.
The war is against the spirit of man. If you can capture the mind, you can rule the body and eventually destroy the soul. Deep research is done by traditional advertisers to understand human needs and desires. Social media helps advertisers target individuals through their browser history, apps, camera, mic, and more. Children are addicted and misled, women are distracted and enslaved, and the men are all over the place.
Only Jesus can deliver man from the clutches of worldliness and Satan. The Spirit of God alone can consume every filthiness of the flesh and spirit.
Wake up to righteousness.
Seek the face of God.
The time is near.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
