Prayer is the first step towards growing in humility
Do you want to grow in humility? Build your prayer life. Those who pray believe that God's view is most important in their life rather than what they think.
The moment we are saved, we receive great joy in our hearts. We seek God's presence and fellowship to know Him more. Till the time we are focused on knowing God more, we remain humble. We do not waste time talking about others or getting into unedifying discussions or debates. Our conversations will also remain godly.
Prayer gets wasted when we do not use the time to acknowledge God's greatness and abundant provision. We are, after all, created to praise Him. Only those who genuinely praise God are humble.
Pray like Jesus, humbly.
Jesus said to learn humility from Him. Growing in humility requires us to go to Him in prayer.
How did He pray?
He prayed with strong tears and crying as He surrendered to do God's will. Jesus would often break away from the crowds to pray. He drew His strength from the presence of God in prayer. As believers, this is the formula of praise and prayer for us. Prayer needs action for us to see the wonders of its power. Strong tears and crying are not the same as quickly muttering something to God because we are so busy.
Why did Jesus have to pray?
He made Himself zero, so God is glorified in and through Him (Philippians 2). He did not use His power, though being fully God, to get His way around in the world. He prayed to receive direction and strength from the Heavenly Father.
Every hero of faith in the Bible was a prayer warrior. Kings would turn to God before every battle. Priests would not speak or move till God gave His word. When you believe God has called you, prayer becomes your place of direction, joy, strength and more.
Come to Jesus, join in fellowship. The day of Christ is near. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
