Peter Tried Manipulating The Gentiles

Manipulation is a product of pride. Those who manipulate do it to gain a selfish advantage. It's a subtle use of power, position, and talent to control a person or a group of people.

Peter manipulated some gentiles to circumcise (Galatians 2:14). Why is this hardly EVER talked about? It's because of an elitist mentality some ministers have about their calling. While we don't blame people in a fleshly manner, people in positions need to be accountable for how they spiritually guide others.

In this particular case, one that required mention in the Bible by the Holy Spirit, we see the pressures of a growing church.

According to Paul, the Apostle,

  1. Peter was to blame. He was responsible for ministry among the Jews. He failed to uphold the truth because he was afraid to lose power or people.

  2. There was a dissimulation - A hypocritical environment creating discomfort for all.

  3. They weren't walking in the truth of the gospel. Peter loved Jesus but still gave in to power-play.

Staying a weak saint is a choice. Paul was bold to address the flaw. Paul warns about the simplicity of Eve in believers. In Acts 15, Peter speaks against the need for circumcision. But the pressures of dealing with people pushed him to people pleasing.

Only God's truth can save us. Everyone comes under one standard - Jesus Christ. How we grow from there will depend on our surrender to the wisdom and power of His word. The more we labour in Him, the better we know how to discern devious, divisive spirits working inside the church.

Walk in the fear of God and obey His commandments. Keep your spirit in control by the Spirit and Truth.

Stay focused on cleaning your heart to be prepared by the Holy Spirit for the rapture.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
