Obedience is better than sacrifice
God commanded Jonah to go, minister, at Nineveh. He refused God because he knew God could save Nineveh without him. Jonah disobeyed.
Jonah did not hate God nor had a problem with God. He was a prophet. He knew God's power and majesty.
Indeed, God does not need us to save man. Neither can we save any man on our own. But He appoints and anoints us to glorify Himself in and through us.
Do you think God needs you to do ministry, or do you think God desires your obedience?
Our obedience is what God desires. God commands us to love others as He loves us.
Sometimes we are like Jonah. We know God, how great He is and what He is capable of. But refuse to do what He has called us to do.
WHAT HAS GOD CALLED YOU TO DO, DEAR CHILD OF GOD?
The word of God is rich with doctrines, correction, rebuke, and instruction in righteousness for believers. So we become perfect in Christ (1 Timothy 3:16, 17).
God has given us pastors after his own heart because we submitted to God to obey His word. (Jeremiah 3:15)
Is your heart longing to fulfil God's word? Do you love the doctrines, corrections, rebukes, and instructions in the word?
Seek strength from God in prayer to walk in obedience. Don't be like Jonah, who refused to do what God asked.
Build your intimate relationship with God so He can fulfil His perfect will in your life.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
