Is Your Christianity A Miserable One?
Is your Christianity a miserable one? Is your hope in Christ only for this life? (1 Corinthians 15:19)
Hope is not only for this life. It is for eternity. Many believers seek God for material, financial and other fleshly needs. This state of believers is worse than the unsaved.
RICH MATERIALLY BUT POOR SPIRITUALLY
(Revelation 3:17)
Many are miserable because they are content with life on earth. They think God has blessed me materially, financially and physically. So I'm set. They religiously go to church but have no change in character. Constantly judging others and thinking themselves to be better than others. They have no joy of salvation. Finding fault with those involved in ministry. Never themselves lifting a single burden for the sake of Christ and His flock.
FLESHLY MINDED, NOT SPIRITUALLY MINDED
(Galatians 3)
Who is miserable? Believers who live by the flesh and not by the Spirit and truth. They are as though bewitched by FLESHLY desires. Though they received the word of God by hearing through the Spirit, today, live to feed their FLESHLY desires. They avoid suffering for Jesus in their families, among friends, in their workplaces and wherever they go. Desire only temporary peace, as long as they are alive.
FRIENDSHIP, NOT FELLOWSHIP
(Job 16:2)
Job's friends were miserable comforters. They did not rely on God to comfort them. Many believers do not know how to comfort their fellow believers. There is no comfort without the Spirit and the Word. Many would rather be politically correct than spiritually direct.
UNDERESTIMATING THE DEPRAVITY OF SIN
(Romans 7:24)
Paul recognised that he was in a body of death. He daily fought in prayer to overcome the wretchedness of the flesh against his spiritual walk. Most believers take sin lightly and, therefore, take the blood of Jesus lightly, leading to an unholy walk over time.
Examine your heart, dear beloved of the Lord.
How is your hope of His coming? Do you love His appearing? Receive a fresh vision today to prepare yourself for the rapture. Desire to walk like Jesus. Surrender to the Holy Spirit and overcome this state of 'miserable Christianity'. God is on your side.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
