How To Hear The Word of God As A Believer?
How is your state when you are hearing the word of God? It’s critical to be fully attentive to anything we do in life. Most of the time we don’t learn or feel wasteful about things we are involved in because we pay poor attention to it.
Here are five more ways to apply hearing when it comes to the word of God.
How do you hear the word of God?
- Those who heard the gospel were pricked in their heart (Acts 2:37). The word of God stirred them, prompting them into a need for action. Hear with your heart, desire God’s will.
- The word of God had taken deep root in Lot’s life for him to have stayed righteous in a horrible place like sodom and Gomorrah (2 Peter 2:8)
- Jesus heard with intent, asking questions and learning how to respond to the priests in the synagogue (Luke 2:46)
- The rich man neglected the word of God and therefore never cared for Lazarus poor state (Luke 16:31)
- A real hearer of the word is a doer (James 1:23)
It takes heart to ensure focus. A love for what you are called to do. When we lack heart we won’t hear like we need to. The words we hear will not find deep root. If it’s important we find ourselves attentively listening. Is Christ life? When He becomes our all to us then we give our all to Him - in prayers, meditation and fellowship.
Dear brothers and sisters, we are in a time where the word of God is scarce. The pandemic has isolated us from fellowship. But God is stil speaking to those who call out to Him. Let’s cry out to God for harvest is aplenty. May God raise up more labourers in these last days. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen!
