How Does Love Cover A Multitude Of Sins?

I used to misunderstand this verse: Love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter‬ ‭4:8‬). I thought that even if I sinned and loved others, my sins would be covered. That is incorrect. I realised it was works-based.

Jesus died for my sins, and His love covers them. His forgiveness gives me room to repent and renew my walk with Him.

Similarly, when someone goes against me and I still love them, their sins get covered by God's love in me that I exercise towards them. It gives them the grace to change their attitude towards me as I consistently forgive and exercise my love towards them (by the grace of God in my life).

This kind of love is the most powerful. And it comes only from God. Man tries to copy this love by trying to keep forgiving others through their human effort. What happens? They break down, eventually. They are unable to love one another anymore after a point. They keep getting deceived by the devil as he fills the mind with negative thoughts about the other person.

HOW TO LOVE OTHERS DESPITE THEIR BAD BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS YOU?

Get renewed by the anointing of love shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).

When we read 1 Peter 4:7, Paul reminds the church that the world will end soon. He urges believers to be earnest and disciplined in their prayers.

When we pray or ask in prayer to God for any spiritual blessing, a spiritual war begins. Satan's plans crumble when we are humble. When we ask for more love, the Holy Spirit replenishes us with fresh love. There's no way we can love without God's love in us.

Pray and get filled daily with God's love. His love is all-powerful, everflowing and eternal. Jesus is coming soon. Praise God, and Amen.
