Honour Your Parents In The Lord
A mother, a godly woman, believing in divine healing went to live with her son. She felt sick one day. She began to wait on the Lord for her healing. The son forced her to go to the hospital, where the doctor listed five other issues with her body. She returned home discouraged and feeling worse. Within days, symptoms of the other issues began to manifest. She cried out to God to protect her from being taken to the hospital. God kept her healed and raised her as a testimony before all. (The son never knew she was suffering for over a year)
Children will be a help to their parents if they believe in God. If they don't, they will become a hindrance for their parents.
When we don't honour God, we turn into beast mode - influencing people in the wrong ways that don't concern us. Unbelief is a state in believers that makes God weep. Jesus wept because of unbelief among his followers.
You cannot be a good child if you don't live by faith. The ultimate way to honour your parents is to live by faith. Faith-fueled children are a huge blessing and honour to their parents. Is there any other way to honour parents other than by honouring God? None!
How to honour your parents?
Pray and meditate on God's word daily. You will receive revelation and boldness to be available in time of need. Not just for godly parents but also for those not in the faith.
Miriam displayed great love by following baby Moses in the basket. She showed great faith and wisdom - boldly speaking to Pharaoh's daughter about raising Moses by a Hebrew woman (her mother).
Joseph's revelation in his early childhood and obedience to Jacob prepared him to trust in God during the 20 years of his suffering.
Isaac obeyed Abraham at Mount Moriah as a child. He also married the girl according to his father's choice when he needed to get married.
Keep the faith. There is nothing better to live by. Jesus is coming soon. Praise God, and Amen.
