Does anyone care?

Often times we feel no one cares. It's true in one sense no one really cares. Feelings of inadequacy and helplessness, feelings of loneliness and frequent frustrations, makes us believe in this lie that no one cares.

Songs like the latest one called "I don't care" by Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran and others are hits today. It's supposed to convey love. Love for an individual at the cost of hating others, and being pretentious among them. "Bad things disappear" when you are with someone you love. Nothing disappears, everyone has to face the realities of life. The ignorance, lies and the nonchalance in the lyrics will end up creating more lost souls. The negative headline is created to attract the negativity in teens and youth. The "self" in these lyrics have nothing to do with comforting a person, rather it pushes them into deeper despair. He even throws the word 'anxiety', normalising it, by saying he doesn't mind. Celebrity influencers have done much damage, but don't blame them. They made their choice to be where they are. Our teens and youth need to be trained to think and believe in the truth about life. Songs such as these glorify selfish attitudes and narrow minded natures. You can never be set free if you choose to listen to music that devalues the purpose of mankind.

To learn how to care, we need to go to the Master. Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." (John 14:1)

Jesus acknowledges the troubles we are to face in the world. Jesus understands. Jesus cares. He faced the worst while on earth. Today, He instructs us to believe in Him to receive freedom from lusts that bind us mentally and emotionally.

Only Jesus can give us the peace that keeps us comforted and felt cared for. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27) The Peace of Jesus comforts our hearts and removes every fear when we place our trust and confidence in Him.

Jesus overcame the world. He is now with the Father to enable us to overcome this wretched world. In His peace we find comfort and joy. Dear Reader, I encourage you to explore the New Testament section of the Holy Bible. May the Words of Jesus give you the freedom you deserve.

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
