Death, Where Is Your Sting?

When someone dear to us dies, it’s a terrible loss. After all, so many emotions have been invested in those relationships. Be it a sudden or even a gradual separation, a loss is a loss.There were 56.9 million deaths worldwide in 2016.A google search revealed 6,316 people die each hour.So many leave the world without knowing the Saviour. Jesus calls out to believers to cry for the lost.For the worldly, it's a terrible loss, almost unbearable for many. Most others just move on with their busy lives. I have met many non-believers who discuss about death, reflecting on their own lives when they attend a funeral service. They realise they do not have any control of death, and that man has to lose to it one day.Death loses its sting when a man enters the narrow way of Christian lifestyle.Once we are in Christ, death is in a losing battle. Death is for the earthly. It is not for those who are set in heaven, those who have their affections on things above. Colossians 3:1-5, reminds us who we are, and the hope of our glory - Jesus Christ, our life.Heaven is full of joy and peace. So is a believer's life daily, enjoying the joy of heaven in their hearts.An earthly loss, is heavens gain.A Christian set in heaven will rejoice when another dies in Christ.What a high standard to live by each day, followed by a grand hope to be with Jesus forever!“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:55, 57-58‬)
