Can You Read Only One Book?
Read one book, says King Solomon. One book of the One Shepherd, that's it! I agree by the grace of God that reading many books is a waste of time. The words of God are powerful and stick like nails (Ecclesiastes 12:11). Not little ordinary nails. Like nails used for crucifixion that go deep!
The word of God rebukes those who entertain the reading and writing of many books. Why? It is because we only need the truth.
Realistically, we have time and energy only for one book. Much studying of anything outside of God's word wearies the flesh (Ecclesiastes 12:12).
The man had only one source of truth in the Garden of Eden. God Himself, His Word, and the Holy Spirit. When man indulged in unnecessary studying Satan's words. He got lost and tired, giving in to eating off the forbidden tree.
Many books or videos by the worldly claim much but are founded on little knowledge. The Bible is God's everlasting wisdom.
Every philosophy outside of the word of God is incomplete. Without Jesus, we can do nothing good or acceptable. We need the mind of Christ.
Our minds and hearts need the best spiritual food. The Bible, the word of the living God, heals and delivers its readers as they approach in all sincerity and humility.
Growing up, I met many well-read people wandering the streets like madmen. Lost and weary, running after the direction from worthless books. If only they had ever read the book of life, the Bible, with intent.
Dear believer, become the book, full of life God has created you to be. Let people read your lifestyle and glorify God. Let words of eternal life dig deeper into the minds and hearts of those God has placed you.
Freely you received, freely give. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
