Be A Comforter

Are you living like someone who needs comfort from others, or are you the type who comforts others in times of need?

For the believer, God is the source of all our comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-5). We become comforters to those who need comfort because we receive our comfort from the perfect source.

HOW DOES A BELIEVER RECEIVE MORE COMFORT?

A believer receives more comfort when they learn to suffer with Christ.

Being partakers of Christ's suffering draws comfort from God that we need to comfort others.

Dependence on God alone for comfort is possible when we walk by faith and love like Jesus. Comfort abounds in God's presence.

COMFORT ONE ANOTHER

(2 Corinthians 2:5-8) There was a man in Corinth who needed to be forgiven by the believers. Paul urged them to forgive him so he may receive comfort because the people's anger and reactions against him were punishment enough. Paul was concerned about him. He did not want him to get deceived by Satan to leave the church.

How many have we seen believers punished for 3-6 months disappear into oblivion? Why? The church failed to reconnect with them with a fresh vigour. Many behave like they've not forgotten or forgiven them for whatever mistake they made earlier. It breaks the church. Love waxes cold, ministries get diluted, and sin begins to increase.

Many keep asking God to use them. How can God use anyone who doesn't care about His flock? When we do not act on the information and burden we have about the people God has given us locally, why expect God to use us in any other way?

A LOVER IS A COMFORTER

Love is the greatest. Christian love brings comfort to those around - A deep desire to serve the people God has given you locally. Pray for one another. The Spirit of God, the Comforter (John 14:26 & 15:26), will guide you to be a blessing.

Arm yourself, Christian soldier. The time is short. Be of comfort to others. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
