3 Deadly Effects Of Foolishness In Man

Why is the rod necessary for a child? To set the child free from foolishness which is bound in their heart. Foolishness is a result of sin. It will keep anyone from getting to know the Lord closely. What happens when foolishness takes effect?

Three deadly effects of foolishness are:

  1. Heart frets at God (Proverbs 19:3)
  2. Stink and corruption (Psalms 38:5)
  3. Sin to think about foolishness (Proverbs 24:9)

The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord.

proverbs 19:3

What does a foolish person end up doing? He perverts his own way. How many times when we did not really know God, blame Him, for something wrong we did? Foolishness is founded on a weak ground, it lacks order.

I recently had a young man complain to me about how everything in his life was going wrong. He blamed God for his joblessness. He acknowledged that jobs were available and that he would get it if he attempted. Yet, he blamed God. He felt he would not be able to stay long enough in the job. After reasoning with Him for a while, he realised he was being foolish and unreasonable.

My wounds are loathsome and foul Because of my foolishness.

psalms 38:5

Foolishness leads our soul into corruption and moral decay. Instead of staying in the word of God, which is wisdom, foolishness drags a man deeper into trouble.

The devising of folly is sin, And the scoffer is repulsive to men.

proverbs 24:9

Even the person who thinks foolish thoughts is sin. Foolishness binds the mind from conceiving godly thoughts.

Wisdom of God overcomes the effects of foolishness

Jesus sets us free from the foolishness of sin, fear and corruption.

Jesus is the wisdom necessary for us to overcome the ways of foolishness in us. Desire Godly wisdom everyday. God gives wisdom freely to all those who ask Him.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

james 1:5
