A Depressed Christian?

How does a Christian deal with depression? Learn from David. An Old Testament King. The religious Christians get depressed knowing they need to rely on God’s Word. They think, “I go to church regularly, pay tithes, etc. still why am I unhappy?”Religion makes you focus on your works. Religious mindset makes you desire a reward immediately. Religious minds want God to do what they please. There are many “Why?” questions. Never question God’s plan concerning your life. Trust in Him. Ask Why, to grow and learn from situations. It’s a heart issue.Religious people lack the heart for any Godly reverence. It’s only mechanical, therefore religious. The people wanted their king stoned. A king who loved his people openly. With a genuine love. But their grief overcame every iota of love for their king. It made them want to kill him. David was distressed too, and had not eaten for days.“..David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD.” (1 Sam 30:6)Yet, what do we see? An entire nation against their king. But, the king loved God and trusted in Him. He led his army to a great victory and restored all that was lost. When you are down and out, the devil draws you into despair and a fit of depression, often destructive. Right then is the time to make a deep impression in your life by trusting in God to fulfil His promised Word. God never fails those who trust in Him.
